This class combines the study of anatomy and life drawing into one! Each session will focus on one area of the figure, highlighting a handful of related anatomical features before observing them in action on the model.
Over years Lacey Lewis has developed a unique method of teaching and studying human anatomy that focuses on a functional understanding of the muscles and bones with clear explanations of their visual importance. She uses a combination of techniques to help students learn the anatomy on the structural level without having to memorize names or medical terms. Understanding the human form on this structural level leads to improved proportion, more dynamic and energetic figures, and will greatly improve drawings done from imagination.
Upon completion of this class, students will have a better understanding of the structure and function of the human figure. Equally as important, students will have a method for continued self-study of anatomy and the figure beyond the 6 weeks of the class.
