Fee per student: $320 includes all materials
This class is great for beginners as well as for artists who want to increase the sense of depth, form, and accuracy in their drawings or paintings.
October 7th through November 25th
Class Fee $375
Class will cover all aspects of figure and portrait drawing (primarily in charcoal) and painting in oil. Basics as well as advanced concepts will be covered, so it is appropriate for students of any ability level. Models will be our primary reference, but photos, images of art, etc., will serve as reference as well.
October 25th at 7:00pm
There is no fee for admittance but I do recommend that you donate to the museum!
We will primarily look at work in the European and American sections, and primarily portraiture and figurative work. I will highlight some specific concepts you can implement in your own work to create more lifelike human images and allow opportunities for you to ask questions about the paintings.

Saturday and Sunday October 26th and 27th, 12pm-5pm
$200 per student, *materials provided
Learn to create vibrant skin tones with only FOUR pigments: Red, Green, Black, and White in this two day workshop. With just these four paints, it's possible to give the illusion of all hues of skin tones whether more yellow, orange, pink, or cooler blues and greens.

Alla prima still life painting
All classes are taught by Lacey Lewis and take place at Red Door Studios in Kansas City, unless otherwise noted. Lacey periodically teaches in other locations and is available to travel for workshops. Feel free to contact us if you'd like a class option not listed!
