Portrait Drawing and Painting Weekend Workshop
Saturday and Sunday October 26th and 27th, 12pm-5pm
$200 per student, *materials provided
This intensive class will cover basic structure of the head, light logic, color theory, and skin tones all while using only FOUR pigments: Red, Green, Black, and White. (Yes, the above painting was done with only these colors!) With just these four paints, it's possible to give the illusion of all hues of skin tones whether more yellow, orange, pink, or cooler blues and greens.
Lacey will begin with a demonstration to walk the students through her process step-by-step, allowing for questions as she works. During student painting time, she will provide assistance and feedback with each student individually. We will aim to do one completed painting from photographs. Lacey will provide photos, but please feel free to bring your own photo reference if you wish!
A lunch break will occur at approximately 1pm. Food is available nearby or can be ordered in, and a refrigerator and microwave are also available for students bringing a lunch.
All materials provided *EXCEPT* that students should bring good paint brushes if possible. Brushes are available for use at the studio, however yours may be of better quality.
